Barb Stroulger STROULGER, Barbara (nee Taylor) 1912 – 2017

Lifetime Ottawa South Resident Barbara Helen Stroulger (nee Taylor) left us peacefully to join her loving husband "C.K." Ken Stroulger on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Barbara would have been 105 on September 2. She was predeceased by her parents James Hugh Taylor and Mary Buchan Taylor, her brother Hugh Maurice Taylor (M.I.D.) and his wives Helen Ferguson and Verna Cyr. A brother Douglas James Taylor and his wife Margaret Mary Taylor of Ottawa survive as well as their sons James Steven Taylor (Bunni) of Salmo, B.C., his daughters Cathryn (Lynx), Alyx and their mother, Heather Graham (Will) all of Nelson, B.C. Also Brian Clifford Taylor and his wife Maria of Macao, China, and their children James Stead, Breana Maria and Kevin Brian.

Barbara was an accountant, teacher, swimmer, skier, played tennis, curled, was a fantastic knitter and played bridge until recently. When Ken was Commodore of the Rideau Canoe Club she spent many summers at regattas. She was a Charter member of the United Church from 1925 onwards and attended Southminster United Church faithfully throughout her life. She has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority – Perceptor Alpha Eta Chapter since 1949. Barbara was a member of The International Women's Club of Ottawa where she was much in demand as a driver since she knew the city so well. She also enjoyed membership in the Women's Canadian Club.

The family sincerely thank the staff at Billingswood Manor for their professional care, concern, compassion and kindness shown to Barbara during her years there.

Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 2- 4 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on Monday, July 24 at 11 a.m. with reception following and then interment at Beechwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Rideau Canoe Club, 804 Hogs Back Road, Ottawa, ON, K2C 0B1 would be deeply appreciated.
