WELLS, Geraldine Anne
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing
of Geraldine Anne (Geri), with her family by her side, on March 24, 2012 at the
Ottawa Hospital General Campus at the age 64 years. Beloved daughter of the
late James and Elizabeth O'Connor and daughter-in-law of the late George and
Gemma Wells. Loving wife of 40 years to George and devoted Mom to James and
Karen, Matthew and Emily and Laura and fiancé Brendan Warren, all of
Toronto. A cherished Grandma who will be missed by Andrew and Riley. Dear
sister and sister-in- law to Kay and George Dogterom, Betty Williams, Maureen
and Brian Monaghan, Irene and Edgar Ladouceur, Deirdre and Roger Forsyth, Joan
and Bob Crew, Ray and Gail O'Connor and John and Sharon Suter. Geri leaves
behind her large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and
many friends. Geri retired from the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in
2007 and was a long standing member of the Laureate Alpha Upsilon. She will
always be remembered by her family for her kindness, generosity and techy
skills which she shared with all. The family will receive friends on Wednesday
March 28 from 3-5 pm and 6-9 pm at McEvoy- Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club
Road (at Albion Road), Ottawa. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of
the Funeral Home on Thursday at 2 pm. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in
Burlington will be held at a later date. A heartfelt thank you is extended to
Dr. Paul Hebert and the ICU staff at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for
their care and compassion. Donations in memory of our Geri to the National
Inclusion Project (formerly the Bubel/Aiken Foundation) to help kids and teens
living with developmental disabilities or to a charity of your choice would be
sincerely appreciated by the family.
