Peacefully at the age of 92, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Robert William, parents Major Charles Douglas and Blanche Harvey, brother Donald Harvey (Thelma), and sisters Mary Booth (Edward), Mona Daly (Patrick) and Barbara Durham (Harold), Gladys Booton (Joe). She leaves behind her children Debbie Cameron-Jones (Richard), Eric (Francine) and Bruce and her wonderful grandsons Patrick and William. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Georgina Shirreff and family as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her life long friend, Irene Casey.

Joan was a WAC in WWII and worked for the Federal Government at DND for most of her career. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her sisters of Beta Sigma Phi International Women’s Organization. Our mother loved life and was a wonderful and caring person who will be truly missed by all, especially her children.

Special thanks to the staff of the Perley & Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre, especially the nursing staff on Ottawa East wing, who gave amazing and terrific care to our mother with special mention to nurses Tatina and Brianna.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway) on Saturday, April 21 from 10am until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11am.

For those wishing, donations to the Perley & Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre would be appreciated by the family. Condolences/Tributes/Donations Hulse, Playfair & McGarry www.hpmcgarry.ca 613-748-1200
