Lynda Ali Lynda Ali
Our beloved mom, nana and wife Lynda Ali passed away with her family by her side on January 6th, 2023 in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 79 years following a valiant battle with Brain Cancer and related complications.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Mir; children: Adam (Lindsay), Ruth (Gord), Maxine; grandchildren: Cooper, Easton, Lola, Madden, Mathew, Jacob, Peter, Leah; sister, Estelle (John) Lambe as well as numerous other relatives around the world.

She will also be dearly missed by her friends from her time in Sydney British Columbia, Henderson Nevada and the retirement homes in Greely, Kanata and Barrhaven.

She was predeceased by her loving parents Julia and Charlie King who were on her mind constantly in her last days.

Lynda was born in London, England during the second world war but spent some 55 years of her life here in Canada. Having lived all across Canada including Toronto Ontario, Fredericton New Brunswick, Calgary Alberta, Ottawa Ontario, Sydney British Columbia as well as a stint in Las Vegas Nevada, Lynda always found herself at the centre of many different friend groups. From sorority sisters to casino hoppers to condo committees and most recently social groups in the retirement home circuit here in the Ottawa area, Lynda left a lasting impression with whoever she met as evidenced by the poem below written by her and Mir's tablemate (David) at the Court in Barrhaven:

____________________
She is a special iron lady,
We remember her well,
She treats others with dignity,
Graceful and courteous, we can tell.

Her words command respect,
Her deeds righteously confirm.
Her wisdom asserts retrospect,
Her actions are decisive and firm.

She travels the world around.
She shares the joy of sightseeing.
She visits countries and towns,
She enjoys cultures and Gomez's cooking.

It has been our privilege to learn,
The peace and kindness in her heart.
Life is a journey with no return,
Farewell, that now she departs.

As much as Lynda disliked the winter weather and preferred to be traveling the world, she spent her last years in Ottawa near her grandchildren, as Nana. She will be in their thoughts when they finally take that Disney Cruise Lynda dreamed of taking.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in spring 2023.
